SUSL developer blog
In the context of our studies we are developing a Google SketchUp to Second Life exporter called SUSL, which should be capable of exporting buildings and objects out of 2D CAD data and 3D SketchUp data into the Second Life environment. We are supported by Queo and the Dresden University of Technology where we pursue our studies. After having completed the thesis it is our intention to make this small project Open Source, so that others are able to enhance the work we have started. We like to present our current process on the SUSL-Project in this Blog.
So if you are interested please coment on it.
nice, nice! i can’t await this!

zorro
Hi Zorro,
we would love to see you helping develope the SUSL Project. I hope to be able to describe the 3d module approach within the next week, so we will be able to discuss the whole thing and you will be able to bring new ideas!
After finishing our thesis in octobre, you also will be able to help improve the code, while we will bring the project Open Source.
This is a very interesting possibility you are working on.
When do you think the first béta version will be available for download?
We are very interested to be a béta tester of your SUSL exporter.
Will it be working on both the free and the pro version of SketchUp?
Do you make it possible to export the materials too, or do you have to add them in SL. And will it be possible to add more then one material in that case?
I am currently working on a research project involving SL. So I am really interested in your results. I wish you good luck with the finishing of your thesis.
Can you give us a date when more information or an open source version will be available? You can also contact me via email.
Best regards,
Sebastian
Awesome! I also work on a project in SL and I would like to read your results. Where are they avaible?
Best regards,
Sanders
Thomas, there are many people who would like such a tool. Is this an open source project yet? I see that the post was written some time ago…
Thanks
